About the role - I’m currently recruiting a Senior Safety, Health and Environmental Manager for a leading UK construction and property services organisation. The business delivers major projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, housing and commercial developments, alongside refurbishment and maintenance work. The role focuses on driving high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting both operational teams (remote and on-site) and long-term health and safety goals.

As the Senior SHE Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring successful safety, health and (low risk) environmental management across multiple construction projects within the North-East region and will provide clear feedback on performance. You will be responsible for managing 3 SHE managers, who cover other geographical areas. As well as, advising project teams on compliance with SHE legal and company policy requirements, especially high-risk activities and will audit project teams on compliance with legal SHE requirements and group policies. The successful candidate must have in-depth SHE experience within the construction industry.

What we are looking for:

  • Level 5 qualification in Occupational Safety & Health.
  • TechIOSH membership and relevant SHE certifications (e.g., IEMA, SEATS, SMSTS).
  • Valid driving license, appropriate CSCS Card and CertIOSH membership (desirable).
  • In-depth health, safety and environmental knowledge within the construction sector.
