A leading packaging manufacturer in the Scunthorpe area are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their team on a shift rotation pattern The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Mechanical Technician with a technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will report to the Maintenance Team Leader and provide planned, preventative maintenance expertise along with responses to reactive breakdowns This is a fantastic opportunity with a multi-national Packaging company who supply to some the biggest companies In the industry Role: Mechanical Maintenance Technician Location: Scunthorpe Salary: £19.50 per hour + company bonus – Expected salary of circa £46,000 per year with bonus Shift: Shift rotation The key responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician role will be: Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, assemblies, and components. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on equipment, including basic hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Conduct basic fault analysis and identify early signs of mechanical failure. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and industry standards. Use and maintain relevant measurement instruments and mechanical tools. Participate in scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Support the implementation of WCM (World Class Manufacturing) practices and other operational systems. Inspect and verify the accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies. Collaborate with other departments and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations. Assist operators in routine machinery upkeep and minor maintenance tasks. Support training efforts and cooperate with external personnel such as agency workers and contractors. Consistently wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety procedures, regulations, and policies. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, BRC, and other relevant standards adopted by the company. Appropriately dress in accordance with all applicable Health & Safety requirements.
