Marketing & Communications Officer

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £29,800
Contract: 6 Months Contract (potential extension)
Work Type: Full Time | Hybrid – 3 days WFH

Role Purpose

You main responsibility will be ensuring smooth communication across all channels, email, intranet, share‑point, on site and in person presentations to ensure the 400 strong workforce across multiple locations have up to date information, delivered in the format that works for that group.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Plan, schedule, and publish content across LinkedIn, Facebook, and other platforms
  • Manage community interactions and protect brand reputation
  • Track performance, test formats, and optimise for engagement
  • Support paid campaigns with audience setup, creative briefs, and reporting

Content & Copywriting

  • Write compelling copy for web, email, social media, and print
  • Produce blogs, case studies, press releases, newsletters, and internal communications
  • Maintain brand voice and editorial calendar; proofread and sub‑edit content

Campaign Support

  • Build segmented email campaigns (e.g., Mailchimp/HubSpot), A/B test, and analyse results
  • Support integrated campaigns across web, social, email, and events
  • Engage with colleagues and the public at promotional events

Website & Digital

  • Improve website content and support design/user experience
  • Ensure accessibility, SEO best practices, and page performance
  • Deliver campaign landing pages with clear CTAs and tracking

Brand & Creative

  • Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints
  • Create simple graphics and templates using Canva/Adobe
  • Support photography and videography needs

Insight & Collaboration

  • Monitor trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Work with internal teams and external partners (designers, agencies, media)
  • Support events and launches as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE English (C or above) and Maths (D or above)
  • 2+ years in communications, PR, or media roles
  • Proven experience in social media, copywriting, and web content management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work between multiple campaigns
