We are currently working with a leading Transport Fuel Supplier who are represented across the UK. As a multi-billion pound organisation, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to join their business and be a key factor in driving major projects for the upcoming years. Reporting into the Head of Engineering, as a Senior Project Engineering Manager you will help formulate and standardise processes across the projects team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the Oil and Gas, Petroleum, Fuels Sector. You will be responsible for leading and delivering projects within a highly regulated environment, ensuring adherence to industry standards and government regulations. The role will require UK travel and the management of capital expenditure (Capex) projects with a budget of up to £10 million.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex engineering projects within the Oil and Gas Sector, from conception to commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery and within allocated resources.
  • Develop project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee and manage the execution of projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, requirements, and standards.
  • Coordinate activities with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party entities, fostering effective collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  • Take ownership of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, implementing and managing Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) processes.
  • Manage and control project costs, continuously monitoring budgets, and implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilise effective communication and leadership skills to manage project teams, motivating team members to achieve project milestones.
  • Adhere to the principles of Construction Design and Management (CDM) to ensure the safe execution of construction projects.
Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification and project management expertise.
  • Experience of using project management models such as Prince2 and software such as Microsoft Project required.
  • Significant project management experience with the ability to manage numerous projects involving stakeholder engagement, budget control, customer outcomes, and specified deliverables.
  • Experience of managing engineering projects within the transport fuel, Oil distribution, EV, or other high hazard sectors.
  • Experience of multi-project delivery within a high-risk profile organisation would be beneficial.
  • Experience of HSE management systems and permit to work processes and contractor management.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with CDM 2015 beneficial.
