About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the construction and engineering team. This role is integral to the successful delivery of all projects and the continued development of a strong, positive health and safety culture across the business. You will act as a key source of occupational health, safety and welfare expertise, providing advice and guidance both internally and to our external client base. The role involves close liaison with clients, contractors, employees and plant operators, supporting a wide range of projects across the power generation, process and renewable energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional health, safety and welfare advice across construction and engineering projects
- Support Health and Safety activities across UK–wide sites
- Review Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments and associated documentation
- Operate effectively within CDM 2015 Regulations, including experience of the Principal Contractor role
- Undertake site–based health and safety audits and inspections
- Promote the businesses Health and Safety services to clients in collaboration with the Business Development team
- Chair and minute meetings, producing clear and professional reports
- Actively promote and continually enhance a positive health and safety culture across the business
Personal Specification
- NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma (or equivalent)
- Certified IOSH member, working towards Chartered status
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification with practical construction–based audit experience
- Excellent working knowledge of UK occupational Health & Safety legislation and guidance
- Preferred experience within consulting, heavy industry, power generation, process or renewable energy sectors
- Demonstrable ability to influence clients and embed a strong safety culture
- Ability to evaluate, explain and simplify complex root cause and effect issues
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel in the UK and overseas if required

- Highly visible and collaborative member of a recognised health and safety function
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
