Location: Hull
This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that designs and manufactures precision technology which is exported globally.
Duties:
- Co-ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actions.
- Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
- Accountable for production quality issues – component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
- Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost saving techniques.
Experience:
- Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within a precision engineering environment.
- Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Measurement & inspection of components and complete assemblies.
- Structured problem solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS.
- Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
- Able to utilise metrology equipment - CMM and manual measuring tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques.
- Familiar with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Internal auditor experience desirable.
- Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
