Machine Preparation Centre Engineer Location: Immingham Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are a well-established international distribution business specialising in machinery and trucks for industries including construction, material handling, recycling, and transport. With decades of heritage and a strong global presence, we combine experience with a modern, agile approach. We are currently looking for a Machine Preparation Centre Engineer to join our team in Immingham. This is a hands-on role focused on preparing, inspecting, and ensuring machinery is ready for delivery to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and machine preparation
  • Fit attachments and extras such as buckets, guards, couplers, radios, and cameras
  • Ensure all checks are completed in line with inspection and extras documentation
  • Identify and report any additional work required
  • Install software updates where applicable
  • Accurately complete job records and input data in real time
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment
  • Care for tools and equipment, reporting any defects
  • Work in line with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
  • Support team members and assist with training where required
  • Attend training courses to maintain and develop technical skills
  • Work overtime when necessary to meet business needs

About You

  • Qualified in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Mechanics or similar (e.g. NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds)
  • Experience working with heavy plant machinery, including hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Organised, reliable, and detail-focused
  • Confident handling and operating heavy machinery
  • Basic IT skills (systems, email, technical documents)
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Welding experience would be advantageous
