HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for an Environmental Engineer to work for the UK’s largest water company, proactively addressing environmental challenges while investing in infrastructure and customer service improvements.
The role will be focused on overseeing environmental risk management and compliance across a range of capital projects. Ensuring adherence to environmental regulations, implementing effective mitigation strategies, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within project teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management plans to address environmental challenges throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure strict adherence to environmental legislation by conducting thorough assessments and implementing necessary mitigation measures.
- Communicate environmental policies and best practices to project stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Provide environmental guidance and leadership to project teams to ensure alignment with organisational sustainability goals.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
Work arrangement:
- Hybrid, 2-3 days per week office based
- Regular on-site presence required for project-related activities
- 36-hour work week, Monday – Friday
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
Essential Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- A degree in environmental science, ecology, sustainability or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental assurance or a similar role within the UK.
- Strong understanding of UK environmental regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
