Seeking a hands-on, dynamic and people-centric professional to provide safety, health and environmental project support alongside an experienced SHE Manager (also based on site). This position is perfect for a strong environmentally focused Health and Safety coordinator (officer or advisor) who is very driven in their career and able to hit the ground running for this large and well-established, 24/7 manufacturing site.
Main responsibilities- To be responsible for supporting the SHE Manager in all aspects of health, safety and environment across site, with key focus on environmental management as well as covering for the Manager when required.
- Be a valued person within an established HSE team, who can be visible and approachable across the site and bring innovative and forward-thinking ideas to the table.
- Establish trusted relationships with the community and external stakeholders.
- Support incident investigations & reporting as required helping to provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Enhance current levels of compliance - Support the maintenance of the factory SHE Management systems including maintaining ISO14001, ISO50001 and OHSAS certification. With a focus on environmental compliance and management of environmental permits and consents.
- Collaborate across departments, specifically working closely with our on-site waste management team to ensure compliance and drive waste improvement opportunities.
- Implement & develop site initiatives leading to continuous improvement in SHE performance.
- Essential - NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification ie, IOSH Level 3.
- Desirable - Environmental Management Certificate, (or interest in / working towards).
- Ideally general manufacturing experience, fast-paced manufacturing or logistics background, high-risk industries are included.
- Self-motivated and confident person.
- Hands-on, able to build trusted relationships.
- Able to collaborate, influence, gain buy-in with strong communication skills.
