A leading manufacturer of metal products is looking for a Design Engineer to join their team at their office based in the Dudley area. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, adaptable and personable Design Engineer with a strong background in 2D AutoCad, with experience in the sheet metal industry. This is a fantastic opportunity with a leading company who are expanding rapidly, with a goal of doubling their turnover within the next decade. The Design department is currently operating on a straight days shift pattern, on a 40 hour work week, five days in the office, 07:30 - 16:00.

Role: Design Engineer

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Salary: 40,000 - 45,000

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers and Sales to clarify engineering requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare and release accurate drawings, specifications and production data to support manufacturing and delivery right first time.
  • Review work orders and drawings to minimise errors and rework.
  • Use and maintain CAD/CAM systems and records to enable efficient order processing.
  • Support process development, continuous improvement and material optimisation.
  • Assist production teams with process updates, training and in-process quality checks.
  • Help identify and resolve design or specification issues in collaboration with production teams.
  • Contribute to cost control initiatives.
