Salary: 24.00 to 33.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 44 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work setting: Custom cabinet shop, Millwork shop

Responsibilities:

  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files
  • Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:

  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Cabinetmaker Red Seal Certificate

Experience and specialization:

  • Area of specialization: Cabinets, Furniture, Doors and door frames, Millwork, Furniture and cabinet remodeling
