The Opportunity:

Our client designs and manufactures advanced electric propulsion and smart marine systems from its waterside facility on the River Hamble. Its technology supports commercial, defence, leisure and autonomous vessels as demand accelerates for high-performance electric marine solutions.

This is a senior technical role with genuine ownership of propeller performance across the full product lifecycle. You will lead the design, optimisation and real-world performance of propellers used within advanced electric propulsion systems, working closely with the CTO and wider engineering team.

This is a high-impact position where your work directly influences vessel efficiency, system performance and customer outcomes across global applications.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Own the end-to-end development of propeller solutions across the product range
  • Design, optimise and analyse marine propellers for electric propulsion systems
  • Conduct hydrodynamic and performance analysis to match vessel requirements
  • Improve efficiency, speed and overall propulsion system performance
  • Lead prototype development, testing and validation activities
  • Work with suppliers to develop scalable and cost-effective manufacturing solutions
  • Support field performance, troubleshooting and optimisation of deployed systems
  • Collaborate across engineering, production and customer teams

What Success Looks Like:

  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or similar discipline
  • Strong experience in propeller design and optimisation
  • Solid understanding of hydrodynamics and vessel performance
  • Experience with CFD or marine analysis tools
  • Analytical mindset with strong numerical capability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving engineering environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
