Job title: Financial Controller (Part-Time)
Location: Ideally Hybrid, with 40% time in Crawley, but remote considered.
Who are we recruiting for?
Our client is a unique, British design and engineering business at the forefront of global solar innovation. Their vision is to change energy for good by displacing fossil fuels in commercial and industrial buildings worldwide with award-winning solar thermal and PVT technologies. Following a successful Series B fundraise, they are entering a vibrant phase of expansion and are seeking a Qualified Financial Controller to join their determined and supportive team.
What will you be doing?
- Preparing annual budgets and long-term business plans to support future fundraising
- Supporting international expansion with a focus on product compliance and customs/VAT
- Producing monthly management accounts and liaising with external accountants
- Managing cashflow forecasts, banking transactions and rudimentary treasury
- Preparing quarterly shareholder and board updates
- Maintaining share capital and share option records
- Coordinating statutory accounts and tax returns with external accountants
- Supporting international shipping compliance
- Managing all aspects of stock accounting and project profitability tracking
- Initiating, reviewing and processing payroll (outsourced)
Are you the ideal candidate?
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
- Strong experience in SME finance roles
- Proven background preparing management and statutory accounts, and budgets
- Skilled in accurate and timely reporting with clear, audience-appropriate analysis
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and international business operations
- Confident using Xero accounting software
- Knowledge of import/export, shipping and customs procedures
- A motivated, assured and adaptable communicator who thrives independently
