We are recruiting on behalf of an award-winning maritime innovation company at the forefront of decarbonising commercial shipping through wind propulsion technologies. As the company experiences rapid global growth across Europe and Asia, they are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Programme Director to lead their global delivery function and drive operational excellence.
What will you be doing?
As Programme Director, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex global projects, managing a growing team and ensuring the successful fulfilment of customer contracts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing global project planning and resource management across the UK and China, ensuring timely, efficient, and profitable delivery.
- Leading the Programme Management Department at a strategic level, while managing P&L, project risks, and client relationships.
- Coordinating internal functions—engineering, production, and installation—to drive schedule adherence and process improvement.
- Representing the business at senior client levels, including managing contract variations and escalations with shipyards, classification societies, and stakeholders.
- Coaching and developing a high-performing team, aligning departmental goals with wider business strategy.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Degree in engineering or naval architecture, with formal project management certification.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in complex marine equipment delivery, including Asia-based shipyards.
- Strong commercial, contractual, and client-facing experience across shipbuilding, marine integration, or specialist maritime systems.
- Proven ability to manage global teams, matrix structures, and international project stakeholders.
- Experience working with classification societies and design houses across Europe and Asia.
