The predicted salary is between 120000 - 120000 £ per year.

A battery intelligence business backed by a $60bn parent is building out its grid-scale storage function, and this is the first senior technical hire of its kind in the UK. It sits deliberately between sales and delivery: the person who makes prequalified customers believe the solution genuinely meets their needs, then stays with them from deployment through to real operational value. The technical bench sits largely in San Francisco, so this role carries the UK-facing technical credibility on its own. It is a blank slate with strong backing behind it, not a seat to be filled in an established team.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Own the technical, consultative sale into grid-scale storage customers, translating a strong product set into outcomes buyers trust.
  • Lead customers through deployment of early-stage and beta solutions, turning validation and feedback into commercial progress.
  • Shape solution design across on-premise and cloud, feeding directly into the product roadmap rather than receiving it.
  • Build the depth-first customer relationships that let the business go deeper with fewer accounts and get the early ones right.
  • Define what this function becomes: over time it can broaden geographically and, for the right person, grow into something larger.

What Success Looks Like

  • Four to five years plus of specific grid-scale battery storage experience, with a genuinely technical or engineering background behind it.
  • Fluency in BESS system architecture: EMS, PCS, SCADA integration, market dynamics, and what actually drives storage performance.
  • Credible in front of technical buyers without being a pure salesperson; rapport and commercial judgement matter as much as depth.
  • A self-starter comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-growing, startup-flavoured environment, not someone who needs the path laid out.
  • Something incremental to add to an already strong team, not just competence across the basics.

What Is on Offer

  • A senior individual contributor role with real ownership from day one, direct influence on product direction, and the security of deep parent-company capitalisation behind an entrepreneurial unit.
  • Base up to £120,000, 20% bonus (with an enhanced share option), pension, health cover, and an EV car scheme.
  • Genuine long-term growth as the function scales.

We are running this search on a retained, exclusive basis. If you have the storage depth and want a role you can define rather than inherit, we would like to speak with you in confidence.
