Join a fast-growing offshore marine consultancy at a pivotal moment as they centralise and scale their project operations function. With a strong footprint in offshore wind and construction support, they are building a new Project Coordination team to underpin complex, high-value projects across the offshore sector.

This is a key hire: a junior mariner or engineer coming ashore to take ownership of day-to-day project operations, resource planning and vessel attendance coordination. You will be the operational “nerve centre” that keeps multiple offshore projects running smoothly, safely and profitably, up to a month ahead of execution.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Own short- and medium-term project resource planning (c. 4 weeks ahead), ensuring the right surveyors/consultants are on the right vessel at the right time to minimise downtime and maximise billable utilisation.
  • Coordinate all project dependencies (people, vessels, schedules, associates) across a dynamic portfolio, directly supporting on-time, on-budget delivery for offshore wind and construction campaigns.
  • Act as a key operational link between Project Managers, offshore personnel and external associates, improving communication flow and reducing last-minute changes and firefighting.
  • Help design and embed standardised processes for project documentation, procedures and resource management as part of a newly centralised coordination team.
  • Support and, over time, lead on arranging vessel inspections, surveys and on-site attendances, contributing to safe and efficient offshore operations.

What Success Looks Like

  • Junior mariner (OOW / Chief Mate level) or marine engineer with seagoing experience, motivated to build a long-term shore-based career in offshore projects.
  • Demonstrable ability to plan ahead, manage moving parts and stay calm and decisive in a dynamic, weather-impacted operational environment.
  • Commercially aware mindset: understands vessel schedules, project time pressures and the cost/impact of delays, and plans resources accordingly.
  • Highly organised, proactive communicator who naturally takes ownership of problems and sees them through to resolution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ambitious “sponge” mentality: eager to learn project management, project financials and document control, and to grow into a broader project operations or PM role.

What Is on Offer

  • Base salary in the region of £40,000–£45,000 (depending on experience) with clear scope to grow as you take on more responsibility.
  • A true platform role: hands-on exposure to project management, project financial management, resource planning and document control within a centralised, high-impact team.
  • Hybrid working model around London or Southampton, with a mix of desk-based coordination and opportunities to get offshore for vessel inspections, surveys and on-site work.
  • Direct mentorship from seasoned project and marine professionals, giving you a structured pathway from junior coordinator into senior coordination or project management.
  • The chance to transition ashore without losing touch with “real” offshore operations, shaping the success of complex renewable and offshore construction projects.

If you are a junior mariner or engineer ready to come ashore and build a high-impact career in offshore projects, we are shortlisting now. Only a small number of candidates will be put forward, so if this aligns with your next move, get in touch immediately to be considered.
