Monday – Friday £12.85 4 months contract
DBW Drive by wire or DbW Trained Waste Operative will undertake a range of duties required to operate the Waste Management Facility. He/she has responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team, for the operation of a waste disposal location, landfill site, transfer site or treatment site.
To cover a selection of duties within the Waste Services team in providing a high quality waste and recycling collection service. The role includes but is not limited to:
- The safe emptying of wheeled bins
- The manual handling of large waste items from households / commercial premises
- Delivery of waste containers
- Assisting in the waste management at Events and Festivals (weekdays / weekends)
- Recording and reporting recycling contamination
- Effectively communicating to customers the correct way to recycle
The role is predominately working outside throughout the seasons in a variety of weather patterns. Duties also include, when required, winter maintenance; the manual gritting / snow clearance from footpaths.
You will be a strong team player, who has a flexible approach, with a good safety ethos and a can do attitude, who can work in a demanding service, and be able to work with the public to resolve issues.
