We are looking for reliable and professional Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team, collecting and delivering chilled and ambient goods to customers and distribution centres.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing deliveries safely, efficiently and on time, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining all company and legal driving standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving Class 1 HGV vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Collecting chilled and ambient goods from suppliers, warehouses and distribution centres.
- Delivering goods to customers and designated delivery locations.
- Completing vehicle checks before and after each shift.
- Ensuring goods are loaded, secured and transported correctly.
- Maintaining the required temperature for chilled products throughout transportation.
- Completing delivery paperwork, PODs and relevant documentation accurately.
- Carrying out multi-drop deliveries where required.
- Communicating professionally with customers, warehouse staff and transport teams.
- Reporting any vehicle defects, delivery issues or temperature discrepancies promptly.
- Complying with drivers' hours, tachograph and working-time regulations.
- Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
- Experience transporting chilled, ambient or food products is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of UK roads and delivery procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules.
