Role Description
The Operations Team Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at our offices in Barlborough, Chesterfield, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational delivery of staffing and transport solutions within secure and challenging environments. The role includes managing scheduling, resource allocation, and workflows to ensure continuous 24/7 service coverage, as well as monitoring service performance against agreed standards. The Operations Team Manager will supervise and support operational teams, coordinate with clients to understand specific requirements, and ensure that tailored solutions are implemented safely, efficiently, and in line with company policies and regulatory expectations. Key activities include resolving operational issues, updating procedures, preparing reports, and collaborating with senior leadership on process improvements and capacity planning. The role also involves contributing to training plans, promoting a culture of accountability and high-quality service, and supporting business growth through reliable, responsive operational management.
Qualifications
- Strong operations management skills, including experience in workforce planning, scheduling, and resource coordination in a service-based or staffing environment.
- Proficiency in stakeholder and client management, with the ability to gather requirements, manage expectations, and maintain long-term professional relationships.
- Experience in process improvement and performance monitoring, including using KPIs, reports, and data analysis to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and fostering a culture of reliability and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work calmly and effectively in fast-paced, challenging, or sensitive environments.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to urgent or complex operational issues.
- Comfort with technology and operational systems (e.g., scheduling tools, CRM or case management systems, MS Office) to manage data and reporting.
- Relevant experience in secure care, transport, social care, healthcare, justice, or other regulated settings is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of risk management, safeguarding principles, and compliance requirements in secure or challenging environments.
