Our UHNW clients, based between Kensington and Portugal, are seeking a talented, creative, and highly organised Travelling Private Chef to join their household on a permanent basis. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a chef who enjoys variety, travel, and working within a relaxed yet high-standard family environment.
The role will involve approximately 2–3 months per year in Portugal, where the family regularly entertains friends and extended family, with the remainder of the year based in Kensington, London. While in London, the role will generally require 3–4 working days per week and will include lunch drop-offs, meal preparation, and evening meal preparation completed from your own kitchen, with final cooking and presentation at the family residence. During periods in Portugal, the schedule will increase to 6 days per week in line with household requirements and entertaining.
The family places great importance on sharing healthy, delicious, and beautifully presented meals together. They particularly enjoy fresh, light dishes full of flavour, with an emphasis on creative yet nutritious cooking using high-quality seasonal ingredients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare fresh daily lunches and dinners for the family
- Create healthy, flavourful, and visually refined menus tailored to the family’s preferences
- Source and purchase fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients and groceries on a daily basis
- Ensure fridges and pantries are consistently stocked and organised
- Maintain impeccable kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times
- Travel regularly between residences within the UK and Portugal
- Cater for occasional dinner parties, family gatherings, and entertaining when required
- Adapt menus seasonally and creatively to keep meals exciting and varied
- Manage meal preparation efficiently and independently while maintaining exceptional standards
- Work with discretion and professionalism within a private household environment
Previous experience working within private households or UHNW family environments is essential. Minimum 3 years’ proven longevity in a similar private chef role. Must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom. Passion for healthy, creative cooking using fresh local ingredients. Strong knowledge of International, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines. Calm, positive, and flexible attitude with a proactive approach. Comfortable working independently and efficiently. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness. Must enjoy being around dogs. High levels of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
