A lovely role for an experienced and energetic Nanny. The family consists of the mother and her two children, a 9 year old girl who is at a local school and a 12 year old boy who will be boarding. It is most important that whoever the Principal brings on board will be able to provide a happy, organised and calm environment for her and the children. There will be a need to proxy parent when the Principal is away. There will be a live-in Domestic Couple employed and the Nanny and the Housekeeper will be expected to cover each other's weekends on a rota.
The ideal candidate should have gained similar experience within a private household, be confident to cook family style food and hold a full UK driving licence. It will be a 5 day working week but there is an expectation to work each alternate weekend and take two consecutive days off in the week instead. Hours will vary but will usually be 7am-7pm with the occasional evening till 9:30pm when proxy parenting.
An example schedule/routine of the day will look like:
- Wake up the children if Principal does not do so
- Cook and serve breakfast
- Clear the breakfast table and dishes and load dishwasher
- Take the children to school if Principal or Housekeeper is not doing so
- Pick up any groceries needed for the day (this duty will be split with the Housekeeper)
- Tidy the children's bedrooms and ensure rooms and cupboard are tidy
- Do children's laundry
- Run any errands required
- Pick up and drop off any dry cleaning
- Walk dogs if the Principal isn't walking them
- Manage the children's diaries and take actions in response to emails
- Cook lunch if the children are home and clear afterwards
- Manage the children’s social diaries and activities
- Prepare and cook dinner for the children on occasions
- Prepare a pick up snack from school
- Collect children from school
- Supervise/tutor kids extra work if Principal not free
- Let pets out and lock up at night
- Ensure the children have their uniform and school bags organised
Hours: As noted above, 5 days per week, 7am-7pm with a long break in the middle of the day. Longer hours on occasions.
Accommodation: Own large bedroom and bathroom within the residence.
Salary: £500 - 600 net per week.
