We are seeking a highly experienced, professional, and service-driven Rota Housekeeper to support the smooth running of a private household based in Wimbledon Village. This role requires exceptional standards of housekeeping, organisation, and presentation throughout the property, alongside strong cooking capabilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, friendly household team, and must be confident preparing daily breakfast and lunch and evening meals in the Chef’s absence, ensuring all dietary requirements are met and meals are well presented and delivered on time. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is proactive, adaptable, discreet, and takes pride in maintaining a beautifully run home.
Key Responsibilities
- High-standard housekeeping throughout the property
- Laundry, ironing, pressing, minor clothing repairs, and shoe care
- Care of delicate garments, including handwashing where required
- Assisting the Chef with meal planning, preparation, cooking, and ingredient shopping
- Confidently preparing and serving lunch and evening meals when the Chef is absent
- Changing bed linen and carrying out regular deep cleaning of bathrooms
- Coordinating and undertaking deep cleaning of kitchens and appliances in line with household schedules
- Managing household stock levels, completing weekly inventories, and disposing of out-of-date items
- Receiving guests, handling deliveries, post, and messages as required
- Supporting calendar coordination and day-to-day household organisation
- Running household errands as reasonably required
- Liaising with contractors and service providers
Ideal Candidate
- Significant experience working as a housekeeper within large private households
- Strong cooking skills with real-life kitchen experience and confidence in food presentation and plating
- Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
- Flexible and adaptable to changing household needs
- Calm under pressure, unflappable, and a clear communicator
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Professional appearance and approach at all times
- Holds a valid basic DBS or is willing to obtain one
