We are seeking a Maintenance Manager / Handyman for two high-end private residences in central London. This is a non-resident role focused on mechanical & electrical (M&E) upkeep, and contractor coordination.

Duties include

  • Oversee and administer all specialist maintenance contracts (M&E, HVAC, lifts, BMS, security & fire, swimming-pool plant, AV/IT)
  • Plan and log all planned-preventive maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrics, life-safety systems)
  • Diagnose and carry out minor repairs (eg, boiler resets, radiator issues, light fittings, basic carpentry/painting)
  • Supervise external engineers and ensure works are completed on time, to spec and within budget
  • Maintain compliance records (Gas Safe, NICEIC, PAT, L8, fire-alarm tests)
  • Monitor property security systems and co-act as first responder for technical alarms
  • Keep inventories of tools, spares and consumables; track maintenance spend

Candidate requirements

  • Heating engineer, HVAC, mechanical or electrical background preferred (City & Guilds / NVQ 3 or higher; Gas Safe or F-Gas a plus)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in prime-residential, UHNW or 5-star hospitality settings
  • Hands-on, solutions-focused and happy to “muck in” with small fixes
  • Strong vendor-management and record-keeping skills; IT-literate (MS Office / Google Suite)
  • Discreet, trustworthy and comfortable around children, guests and pets
  • Full right to work in the UK; fluent English preferred
  • Working days: Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 (flexibility for emergency call-outs)
  • Accommodation: None – this is not a live-in position
