We are seeking an exceptional Lead Housekeeper to oversee housekeeping operations across multiple private residences. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an experienced professional with impeccable standards, strong team management skills, and a genuine passion for delivering luxury service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all properties are maintained to the highest standards, whilst leading and mentoring the housekeeping team to consistently exceed expectations.

Working Pattern

  • Peak Season (June, July, August & December): 1 day off per week, typically 8–10-hour working days
  • Off-Peak Season (Remainder of the Year): 4 weeks off

Key Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping & Property Care: Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation across all residences. Ensure all housekeeping tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest possible standard. Clean, dust, polish, vacuum, and maintain all surfaces and flooring. Care for fine furnishings and specialist finishes, including marble, silver, fine fabrics, china, and glassware. Carry out light laundry duties as required. Maintain appropriate lighting, temperature, and environmental standards whilst monitoring costs and minimising waste. Oversee stock levels for housekeeping supplies, laundry products, and pantry items, ensuring timely replenishment in coordination with the House Manager. Take responsibility for the housekeeping and presentation of principal bedrooms, bathrooms, and dressing rooms, including the organisation and management of wardrobes.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead by example, setting the benchmark for luxury housekeeping standards and attention to detail. Supervise, motivate, and support housekeeping team members under the guidance of the House Manager. Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing working environment.
  • Operational Excellence: Take full ownership of housekeeping operations across all residences, including daily housekeeping, deep cleaning schedules, turn-down service, and preparation for arrivals and departures. Lead all housekeeping preparations for family visits, guests, and events, ensuring each property is presented to an impeccable standard. Demonstrate a proactive and intuitive approach, anticipating principals' preferences and requirements. Continuously review and improve housekeeping systems, standards, and procedures. Resolve housekeeping issues promptly, discreetly, and professionally. Work closely with the House Manager to maintain and enhance the overall presentation, comfort, and functionality of each residence. Liaise effectively with the wider household team and mobile service teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Support special projects and additional duties as required. Contribute to a culture built on trust, loyalty, discretion, and excellence.
