Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Housekeeper to support the smooth running of a large private estate in East Sussex, as well as a London property in Roehampton. This is a varied and dynamic role suited to a proactive and adaptable candidate who is confident managing multiple properties, maintaining exceptional standards, and providing support to the principals when in residence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness across all properties on the East Sussex estate
- Daily cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and bathroom sanitation
- Window cleaning and general upkeep
- Cleaning and maintenance of external furniture, including BBQ areas
- Laundry and ironing of clothing and household linens
- Care of fine fabrics and delicate items
- Changing bed linen and towels when the family is in residence
- Packing and unpacking for the principals
- Ensuring all rooms are well presented, organised, and guest-ready
Cooking & Meal Preparation (when in residence)
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the family and guests (10+ people)
- Menu planning and grocery shopping
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen
- Provide meal service as required
Household Management
- Manage household inventories (cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc.)
- Oversee general maintenance of the property
- Liaise with contractors and external service providers
- Assist with and oversee household projects
Driving Duties (only when principals are in residence)
- Airport transfers and general driving for the family
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all vehicles
London Property Support
- Maintain staff accommodation, storage areas, and garage in Roehampton
- Travel to London approximately once per month
Travel
- Travel with the family when required
Flexibility of Role
This is a full-time role requiring flexibility based on the family’s needs. Working hours will include weekends and evenings when the family is in residence or travelling. Duties may vary depending on occupancy and operational requirements.
