Our clients, a semi formal family living in North London, are currently seeking a Live-in Governess for their 8 year old. The couple have an additional 3 children, but this role is to solely focus on the one child.

Duties include:

  • Ensuring that the child follows a routine that allows for homework, educational activities, and completion of their studies
  • Following the child’s curriculum and tutoring in appropriate subjects such as English and Maths
  • Teaching specialised subjects, such as a language, musical instrument, sport
  • Preparing the child for exams and school assessments
  • Fostering the child’s educational, social, and creative development
  • Ensuring the child’s timetable is adequate and allows for the day to run smoothly
  • Gatekeeper between school and parents
  • Liaising with the parents and other tutors, regarding objectives, progress and development
  • Teach manners, etiquette, and right code of conduct
  • Organising outside activities such as educational outings; museums, art galleries, theatre visits and sporting activities
  • Playing with the child
  • Travel during school holidays to locations such as Dubai, South of France, USA
  • Specific requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • A qualified Governess with a teaching background or higher childcare education
  • A minimum of 3 years professional childcare or teaching experience
  • Specialising in Music, Arts, Sports or Languages
  • Must be double vaccinated due to travel restrictions
