Our client is seeking an experienced, proactive and hands-on Estate Manager to oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of their beautiful private residence in the Lake District. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an experienced Estate Manager who takes pride in maintaining a private estate to the highest standards.
Working closely with the Principals, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running, security and upkeep of the property, whilst coordinating contractors and delivering a first-class service at all times. The ideal candidate will be practical, organised, flexible and able to work independently, whilst maintaining complete discretion and professionalism.
Duties & Responsibilities- Oversee the overall maintenance and smooth running of the estate
- Carry out routine property inspections and preventative maintenance
- General property maintenance and minor repairs
- Groundskeeping and seasonal garden upkeep
- Liaise with, schedule and oversee external contractors and service providers
- Monitor the security of the main residence, outbuildings and grounds
- Chauffeur the Principals and guests when required
- Maintain household vehicles, ensuring they are serviced, cleaned and roadworthy
- Assist with the care of the family's animals as required
- Report any maintenance issues and ensure they are resolved promptly
- Ensure the estate is always presented to an exceptional standard
- Provide additional support to the Principals as required, demonstrating flexibility around their schedule
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an Estate Manager within a private household or country estate
- Strong practical maintenance skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive, hands-on approach with exceptional attention to detail
- A professional, discreet and trustworthy nature
- The ability to work independently and manage contractors effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the household
- A genuine love of animals and willingness to assist with their care
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
