A private household in St John's Wood is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to support the smooth running and immaculate presentation of their residence.
This is a long-term opportunity for a proactive, organised and detail-oriented Housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a home to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will be discreet, hardworking and capable of working independently, whilst also integrating into a wider household team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the home to an exceptional standard
- Daily cleaning of all rooms
- Dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping throughout the property
- Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms
- Making beds and changing bed linen
- Tidying and organising all living areas
- Emptying bins and managing recycling
- Cleaning windows, mirrors and glass surfaces
- Carrying out scheduled deep cleans
- Caring for fine furnishings, delicate surfaces and luxury finishes
- Laundry & Wardrobe Care
- Managing all household laundry and ironing
- Handwashing delicate garments where required
- Changing bed linen and towels
- Organising dry cleaning
- Caring for luxury clothing, accessories and fine fabrics
- Packing and unpacking luggage
- Stain removal and garment care
- Household Support
- Organising cupboards, pantries and storage areas
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning products, toiletries and household supplies
- Receiving and unpacking household deliveries
- Grocery shopping and running household errands
- Gift wrapping and preparing parcels
- Preparing guest bedrooms to a high standard
- Flower arranging and caring for indoor plants
- Reporting maintenance issues
- Liaising with contractors and service providers when required
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working within a private household
- Excellent housekeeping, laundry and wardrobe management skills
- Experience caring for luxury furnishings, fabrics and finishes
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Proactive, trustworthy and able to work independently
- Warm, professional and discreet
- Enhanced DBS preferred
- Greek and/or Italian speaking preferred

- One weekend day off and one weekday off each week
