This is a wonderful opportunity for a discreet, practical, and well-presented individual who takes genuine pride in maintaining an immaculate home and providing exceptional support to a busy household. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily running, upkeep, and security of this elegant London property.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Household Maintenance & Presentation: Take ownership of the general upkeep and presentation of the property, ensuring that all areas are maintained to an impeccable standard. Carry out light maintenance and repair tasks - including changing lightbulbs, tightening fittings, attending to minor wear and tear, and caring for household fixtures and finishes. Confidently use ladders and basic tools for high-level or heavier duties such as curtain adjustments or ceiling fixtures. Oversee external tradespeople and maintenance contractors, ensuring all works are completed to the household’s high standards.
  • Housekeeping & Domestic Support: Work collaboratively with the existing Housekeeper(s), assisting particularly with heavier cleaning duties and occasional deep cleaning projects. Support the smooth day-to-day running of the household by maintaining order, cleanliness, and readiness throughout all living spaces.
  • Driving & Errands: Provide chauffeuring services for the principals as required, including airport runs, appointments, and local journeys. Undertake shopping trips and errands, ensuring items are sourced efficiently and delivered promptly. Maintain the household vehicle(s) in pristine condition — including cleaning, refuelling, servicing, and ensuring readiness at all times.
  • Event & Service Support: Offer hands‑on assistance when the family entertains, helping with table set‑up, service, and post‑event clear‑down. Ensure a smooth, polished standard of service during dinner parties or small gatherings, always maintaining discretion and professionalism.
  • Systems & Technical Oversight: Develop a sound understanding of the home’s operating systems, including heating, lighting, electricals, AV systems, and security. Troubleshoot minor technical issues and liaise with service providers when necessary.
  • Security & Keyholding: Take joint responsibility for the overall security of the property, particularly when the principals are away. Monitor visitors, deliveries, and contractors, ensuring security protocols are followed at all times. Carry out regular checks of both the house and gardens, ensuring all doors, windows, and alarm systems are properly secured.
  • Travel Support: Accompany the family on pre‑planned trips to their other UK residences, mainly in Norfolk, and occasionally Scotland, assisting with property preparation and general support during visits.
  • General & Ad‑Hoc Assistance: Provide additional support as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to turn your hand to a variety of household tasks.

Schedule & Accommodation: Working Days: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week. Flexibility is occasionally required to assist with events or family travel. Accommodation: A comfortable, self‑contained basement apartment within the residence, offering privacy and independence.
