Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen operation.
  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver exceptional food and service standards.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Assist with menu development and seasonal dish creation.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and food cost targets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of junior chefs.
  • Maintain a positive and professional kitchen culture.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a quality hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and high-quality food.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
