Exclusive Education is looking to appoint a Design Teacher to work in a secondary school. The role is full time and the successful candidate will join a friendly, lively, and vibrant school with small class sizes.

Role Overview

The DT Teacher will deliver outstanding teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role involves planning and marking curriculum work, delivering both theory and practical lessons, providing some general cover when needed. The school is open to employing either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a qualified DT Teacher. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and adhere strictly to school policies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Assess and mark students’ work promptly and constructively
  • Manage and maintain effective classroom behaviour to create a positive learning environment
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils with moderate learning difficulties
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the Design curriculum
  • Support school policies and procedures related to safeguarding and pupil welfare

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification with QTS (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., BA Hons)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or UK residency
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a Design teaching role
  • Strong behaviour management skills and adherence to school policies
  • Two references from the last 2 years related to working with children
  • Hold a current DBS registered with the update service, or be willing to apply for one
