Exclusive Education is looking to appoint a SEMH Learning Support Assistant to work within a Social & Emotional Mental Health Primary School in Wigan. This full-time role is for 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible, supporting students in Key Stage 1 and 2 with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous SEMH Learning Support Assistant experience. Experience working with pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs is essential. Candidates with experience in other settings such as sports coaching, residential, or care are also considered.

Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., NCFE, CACHE, NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3) (desirable)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or UK residency
  • Previous experience working with children within the last 2 years
  • Good knowledge of the curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Experience with EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3, and KS4
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Two references from working with children
  • Current DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
