Exclusive Education is looking to appoint a Science Teacher to work in a secondary school in Liverpool. The school caters for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. This full-time role starts in January for the new year. The successful candidate will join a friendly, lively, and vibrant school.

Role Overview

The Science Teacher will deliver outstanding teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role involves planning and marking curriculum work, delivering both theory and practical Science lessons, and providing some general cover when needed. The school is open to employing either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a qualified Science Teacher. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and adhere strictly to school policies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Assess and mark students' work promptly and constructively
  • Manage and maintain effective classroom behaviour to create a positive learning environment
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils with moderate learning difficulties
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the Science curriculum
  • Support school policies and procedures related to safeguarding and pupil welfare
  • Provide general cover duties as required

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification with QTS (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., BA Hons)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or UK residency
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a Science teaching role
  • Experience teaching both theory and practical Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Strong behaviour management skills and adherence to school policies
  • Two references from the last 2 years related to working with children
  • Hold a current DBS registered with the update service, or be willing to apply for one
