We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students in their academic and personal growth. As a Learning Mentor you will work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide individualised support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help with learning.
  • Offer emotional and pastoral support to students to improve their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Help students with organisational skills, study techniques, and goal setting.
  • Support students with specific learning needs, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to track and review student progress.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance student learning and well-being.

About You

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students.
  • A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting student development.
  • A good understanding of the challenges some students face in learning and the strategies that can support them.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
  • A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and safeguarding.
  • Two references working with children.
  • Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
