Exclusive Education is looking to appoint a dedicated and adaptable SEN PPA Teacher to work within an SEN school in the North West. This SEN PPA Teacher role is full-time ideally, although part‑time hours will be considered for the right candidate.
Contract: Full‑time, 5 days per week ideally, but part‑time is considered.
The ideal SEN PPA Teacher will have previous experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. The successful Teacher will be confident delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects and key stages while covering PPA time.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a variety of subjects and age groups
- Provide high‑quality classroom cover during teachers' PPA time
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs to access learning and achieve their individual targets
- Adapt teaching strategies and classroom resources to meet pupils' diverse learning needs
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively using positive behaviour management techniques
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to support pupil development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment as an effective SEN PPA Teacher
- Monitor and assess pupil progress in line with school policies
- Promote pupils' social, emotional, and academic development throughout the school day
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to teaching staff and senior leaders where required
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Recent experience working with children within the last two years
- Previous experience working as a Teacher within SEN settings is desirable
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and behaviour management strategies
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to deliver engaging lessons across multiple subjects and key stages
- Ability to provide two professional references from recent roles working with children
- Hold a current DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
- A flexible, patient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
