Exclusive Education is currently seeking a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within a challenging Secondary School in Ellesmere Port. This role is to start ASAP and is available on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is confident supporting students with challenging behaviour and is committed to making a positive impact on their education and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils within a secondary classroom setting
- Support students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies
- Assist the class teacher with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
- Help to engage and motivate students who may be disengaged from learning
- Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and SEN staff
- Encourage independence and positive participation in lessons
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Candidate Requirements
- Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 2 or above) - desirable but not essential
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Experience working with children within the last 2 years (school or alternative settings such as youth work, residential care, or sports coaching)
- Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour - highly desirable
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Two professional references relating to work with children
- A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
