About the opportunity
What You’ll Do
- Product Strategy & Roadmap (Collaborative)
- Contribute to and co-own Exclaimer’s shared product strategy and roadmap alongside fellow Product Directors, ensuring alignment across domains.
- Own the roadmap and priorities for Exclaimer’s core product offering, balancing short-term customer needs with longer-term strategic bets.
- Bring a strong point of view on market direction, competitive positioning, and emerging technology to shared product leadership discussions.
- Communicate your domain’s roadmap and rationale clearly to stakeholders, connecting it to the broader product strategy and company goals.
- AI Literacy & Innovation
- Identify where AI and machine learning can create genuine customer value, and lead structured evaluation of those opportunities — framing the hypothesis, defining what ‘good’ looks like, and distinguishing real opportunity from hype.
- Build and run lightweight POCs yourself where appropriate — using low-code tools, prompt engineering, or prototyping environments — to validate ideas quickly and reduce engineering risk.
- Stay current on the AI landscape as it applies to SaaS, brand governance, compliance automation, and B2B communication tools, and bring relevant insight back to the team.
- Identify and implement AI tools and practices that sharpen the product process — surfacing patterns faster, generating specs, and validating solutions earlier. Where these ways of working don't yet exist, build them.
- Engineering Partnership & Transition Support
- Act as a close, trusted partner to Engineering — collaborating on problem-solving, architecture trade-offs, and delivery planning, and adapting how you work together as AI changes the shape of discovery, build, and review.
- Facilitate clear, well-structured handoffs between discovery and delivery: ensure Engineering teams have the context, confidence, and clarity they need to build well, not just build fast.
- Work with Engineering leadership to identify where technical debt or legacy constraints are limiting product potential, and factor this into roadmap planning with transparency.
- Brand Governance & Compliance
- Champion the brand governance dimension of Exclaimer’s platform - ensuring product decisions reinforce our role as the system of record for brand standards and compliance in email communication.
- Develop product capabilities that help customers meet regulatory and brand compliance requirements, including legally mandated disclaimers, GDPR-relevant disclosures, and organisational brand policies, enforced automatically at scale.
- Work with enterprise customers and internal stakeholders to understand evolving compliance requirements and translate them into product decisions.
- Customer & Market Insight
- Build scalable processes to capture, analyse, and operationalise customer insights across the product lifecycle.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to synthesise signals from the market, competitive landscape, and customer base into clear product priorities.
- Maintain a sharp understanding of both IT and Marketing buyer personas and their distinct operational needs.
- Leverage engagement analytics and usage data to validate hypotheses, measure product impact, and drive iteration.
- Partner with the Data and Analytics team to improve the quality, coverage, and reliability of product data. Identify gaps in what we are tracking and work to close them. Ensure the product team is making prioritisation and experimentation decisions based on evidence that can be trusted.
- Execution & Go-to-Market
- Lead end-to-end product development within your domain — from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration — prioritising across a complex backlog and articulating trade-offs openly with the broader product team.
- Define requirements and work collaboratively with UX and Engineering to shape solutions that are technically sound and genuinely usable.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Enablement on product launches, ensuring commercial teams can articulate product value to IT and Marketing buyers.
- Define, track, and report on product KPIs — including activation, retention, engagement, and revenue impact — sharing findings transparently across the product leadership team.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Senior product management leadership experience delivering B2B SaaS products where technical depth, compliance, governance, or platform scalability are central to the value proposition — ideally within a peer product leadership structure.
- Demonstrable experience working closely with Engineering teams through periods of technical change — platform modernisation, AI adoption, DevOps transformation, or similar.
- Hands-on experience defining, validating, and shipping AI-powered features, including rapid proof-of-concept work to test hypotheses before full development.
- Bonus: familiarity with enterprise IT environments (identity providers, directory services, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and/or exposure to compliance or regulatory product requirements (GDPR, brand policy enforcement, audit trails).
Skills & Capabilities
- A collaborative, team-first mindset: comfortable contributing to shared decisions and holding your perspective constructively without needing sole ownership of the agenda.
- Strong data literacy — comfortable designing experiments, interpreting product analytics, and making evidence-based prioritisation decisions.
- Outstanding cross-functional communication skills; able to influence and align leaders across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Commercially astute: you understand SaaS growth levers (ARR, NRR, churn, LTV, activation) and connect product decisions to business outcomes.
- Solid technical acumen; able to engage credibly with Engineering and make informed build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions.
- Fluent with modern product management tools and AI-assisted ways of working.
