About The Opportunity: The Engineering Delivery Manager is accountable for both engineering leadership and end-to-end delivery across the Business Operations ecosystem. This role combines people management, engineering excellence, and delivery ownership into a single, accountable leader responsible for turning business priorities into high-quality, scalable solutions. Owning delivery outcomes and the development of technical talent, the Engineering Delivery Manager ensures work is delivered predictably, built to high standards, and aligned with Exclaimer's transformation and growth strategy.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery Ownership: Own the full delivery lifecycle, including backlog from scoping through to post-deployment support. Align team backlogs, priorities, and capacity with Business Operations. Ensure delivery practices promote transparency, predictability, and value-based outcomes. Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across technical and business teams. Ensure delivery outcomes translate into measurable business impact, not just shipped work.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management: Line manage developers, admins and QA or adjacent delivery roles. Own and report on OKRs and KPIs relevant to engineering and delivery performance. Build a high-performing, psychologically safe team culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement. Balance delivery demands with sustainable workload and team wellbeing. Own resourcing, onboarding, capability development, and succession planning for the team.
- Engineering Excellence & Standards: Translate complex delivery progress into clear updates for business and transformation leaders. Work closely with Business Partners, Architect, and Business Analysts to align priorities and expectations. Facilitate cross-team planning and communication to reduce silos and increase transparency. Escalate blockers early with solutions-focused dialogue across stakeholders. Own and enforce SDLC standards including CI/CD, testing practices, code reviews, environments, and documentation. Champion scalable, secure, and maintainable engineering practices across all solutions. Partner closely with Solutions Architecture to ensure alignment with architectural standards and integration patterns. Identify, prioritise, and actively reduce technical debt rather than allowing it to accumulate. Promote continuous technical improvement and pragmatic innovation.
- Agile & Delivery Practices: Use delivery metrics (throughput, cycle time, predictability, quality) to inform planning and improvement. Facilitate effective sprint planning, retrospectives, and prioritisation forums that lead to tangible change. Act as the single accountable owner for delivery progress, risks, and outcomes. Escalate issues early with solution-focused options and clear recommendations. Work closely with Business Operations Partners, Enablement, Transformation, Product, and Architecture teams to align priorities.
Skills And Experience:
- Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams delivering complex systems or transformation initiatives.
- People management capability with a track record of developing and retaining high-performing engineers.
- Deep understanding of engineering best practices and delivery frameworks, with the ability to apply them pragmatically.
- Experience operating in complex SaaS or enterprise system environments (e.g. Salesforce, integrations, internal platforms).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
- Data-driven, delivery-focused, and comfortable making trade-offs in fast-moving environments.
Benefits and Inclusion: At Exclaimer, we are proud to offer a benefits package that reflects our commitment to supporting you professionally, personally, and wherever life takes you.
