Job Description You want to own your own financial planning business. Starting from scratch means finding clients, building a brand, creating systems, arranging support, funding the business and carrying all of the risk yourself. You’ll join an established financial planning practice in Edinburgh as an employed adviser on a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 plus bonus. The long-term plan is for you to acquire the whole practice. You are unlikely to take on funding immediately. You will also have access to an internal team and a panel of lenders who can help structure and fund the acquisition. Think of it as a business mortgage. Clients will not simply be reassigned overnight and left wondering what happened. You will also be expected to find and win new business through client referrals, your own professional network and opportunities you create yourself. The current owner built the practice from the ground up and is looking for someone with the same commercial instinct. Being within practical reach of Edinburgh will make the client handover and relationship-building much easier.
