Why do people leave jobs? A recent survey laid it bare. The number one reason was money. One was greater flexibility about where you work and when. The other three were all variations on "To learn and grow". The conclusion? "People who aren't learning will leave". And that sums things up for you. You don't mind your job or your company. But what comes next? Where can your career go? Or is it "same old, same old"?
At this firm they want their staff to progress. And they do. They currently have three people in training to become financial planners and they'll be a pathway for you too. You'll start off as an administrator but you'll take your exams and move into paraplanning in the next few years. In the next five years, should you want to, you can also become a planner.
In the meantime you'll work closely with a Chartered Financial Planner from whom you'll learn so much. You'll sharpen your technical skills and get to work on very interesting cases with very interesting clients. After all this firm looks after the financial interests of not just HNW individuals and business owners. It counts sports stars and musicians amongst its clientele too. Not that you're one to get starstruck but how exciting could dealing with one of them be?
As for the other factors, well, they've got that covered too. Starting salary is to £35,000 but it's important to note that just as there's a career journey, there's a pay journey. Staff at this business have their salaries reviewed every year and good performance leads to a raise. There's also a bonus scheme and hybrid working. From day one you can work from home one day a week rising to two post-probation. And that tells you how much they trust their staff.
You will get funding and support with exams (as well as study leave) plus the below:
- Pension and death in service benefits
- 25 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays) per annum
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Private Medical Insurance (Bupa)
- Access to market-leading technology and IT equipment to help you deliver a first-class service to clients
- Full training to get you off to a great start
All in all this is a firm that "gets" what it needs to do to not only hire right. It's a firm that knows what it takes to get people to stay.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
You'll be an administrator for a financial planning firm. But conscientiousness, energy and drive is more important than length of experience. As long as you have some experience, we'd like to speak to you. You'll have experience of using systems like Intelliflo and be comfortable using platforms/tech. You'll also have the ability/desire to take and pass exams. This is a modern business with an average age much lower than the industry average. They're a sociable bunch who enjoy collaboration so it's important to be on the same page.
