We are looking for a Senior Account Executive (UK) – Excess Materials Exchange (EME) role at Excess Materials Exchange. This role is for closers, not coordinators. If you need perfect processes, warm leads, or long discovery cycles — this isn’t for you.
About Excess Materials Exchange (EME): EME helps companies turn surplus materials into money. We match steel, equipment, infrastructure components, construction assets, and fit‐out materials with high‐value next users — supported by tracking, resource passports, and a proprietary SaaS platform. Our clients include airports, contractors, manufacturers, utility companies, and major corporates across Europe. We operate where circularity meets hard commercial value: fewer skips, lower emissions, and real cash recovered. We’re expanding fast in the UK and need a Senior Account Executive who can build a pipeline from zero and close real revenue quickly.
About The Role: This is a pure hunter role in a company entering its next growth phase. No legacy pipeline. No inbound engine. No safe "strategic" fluff.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Generating your own pipeline
- Creating momentum in target accounts
- Driving concrete pilots
- Closing revenue in the short term
The work spans construction, demolition, infrastructure, manufacturing, airports, real estate, and the public sector — but the common denominator is the same: they all have valuable surplus materials, and they all need better outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who loves the grind, knows how to break into big accounts, and thrives in a fast‐moving environment where results matter more than process. You’ll collaborate with our Amsterdam HQ but operate with full ownership and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a strong top‐of‐funnel through high‐volume, high‐quality outreach.
- Proactively identify high‐value projects, assets, and material streams.
- Break into accounts through multithreaded contact strategies.
- Run the entire process from first contact to contract signature.
- Lead discovery focused on concrete applications (projects, surplus streams, tenders).
- Produce clear, compelling proposals tied to real ROI.
- Close deals efficiently — no 6–12 month cycles unless justified.
- Strategic Value Selling.
- Navigate multiple stakeholders (ops, procurement, sustainability, finance, project managers).
- Translate EME's capabilities into tangible outcomes: revenue uplift, CO2 reduction, cost avoidance, risk reduction.
- Map UK priority accounts and sectors.
- Identify patterns, opportunities, blockers, and new high‐value verticals.
- Feed insights directly into product, delivery, and leadership.
- Work with solutions, customer success, and leadership to turn pilots into expansions.
- Provide feedback that helps evolve our offering and positioning.
- Help shape the playbook for UK growth.
You have proven success selling into construction, infrastructure, waste, or adjacent heavy industries. You’re a hunter — high‐energy, proactive, and uncomfortable without a full pipeline. You’re a doer, not a "strategic deck maker." You thrive in uncertainty and can build structure where none exists. You know how to convince operational, commercial, and sustainability teams alike. You are commercially sharp and can talk about money, risk, and ROI comfortably. You have 5+ years in quota‐carrying roles with a demonstrated track record of beating targets. You want to be part of something early, messy, and high‐potential.
Nice‐to‐Have:
- Understanding of circularity, reuse, resource value, or waste economics.
- Scale‐up experience and comfort with scrappy execution.
- Ability to quickly learn technical details (materials, assets, logistics, compliance).
Competitive base salary + strong performance‐based variable comp. Equity potential for high performers. Access to a mission‐driven, high‐intensity team operating across Europe.
What Success Looks Like In The First 90 Days:
- A full, active pipeline of high‐potential accounts.
- Multiple live pilots in motion.
- Strong relationships with target stakeholders.
- First revenue already closed or very close to closing.
- Clear deal‐flow patterns and repeatable plays emerging.
One Final Note: This role is not for someone who wants to "manage accounts," "build brand," or "wait for high‐quality leads." It’s for someone who wants to win — and help build a UK business that can exceed €1m+ ARR quickly.
