About the role
Our Medical Communications Managers are responsible for developing high-quality medical communication and education projects for clinical audiences. They become therapeutic area experts, liaising with leading medical professionals and our pharmaceutical/biotech clients to deliver engaging content for educational/communication events, digital initiatives, and enduring materials. They play a key role in developing and executing strategic communication plans within the medical communications team.
Your responsibilities
- Develop outlines and programmes for medical education activities, including face-to-face events, digital events, and enduring materials.
- Support leading medical experts with creating content for medical communication and education projects, including presentations and other medical education materials.
- Provide oversight and project management, prioritising effectively, measuring ROI, and delegating for medical education/communication projects within an assigned therapeutic area to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
- Deliver medical education/communication projects within an assigned therapeutic area, ensuring medical accuracy, quality, efficiency, and adherence to timelines.
- Lead project calls with pharmaceutical/biotech clients and medical experts to align on project scope and content direction, including meeting preparation.
- Provide direction when delegating projects to internal and external writers, editors, and studio staff to ensure high quality and alignment with objectives.
- Contribute to medical education/communication strategy development.
- Communicate project status and changes across internal and external stakeholders, and provide recommendations for actions toward the desired result.

Requirements, skills, and qualifications
- PhD in life sciences, MD, PharmD, or biomedical MSc plus relevant work experience
- Ability to learn rapidly and apply knowledge in unfamiliar therapy areas
- Strategic, critical thinking with strong analytical skills
- Ability to build compelling stories from research data
- Ability to run multiple concurrent projects
- Resilience and flexibility under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Excellent command of English and outstanding written and verbal communication skills
