We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and adaptable Facilities Manager to manage our UK factory and head office, and to lead health, safety, and facilities operations across our sites. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, maintaining safe and efficient workplaces, and fostering a positive safety culture. You will manage both hard and soft FM services, oversee contractor performance, and champion continuous improvement in HSE and facilities standards, within Motion Applied.

What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in a similar role covering both FM and HSE responsibilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to design and implement policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and compliance reporting.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • IWFM Level 4 (or higher) or equivalent HNC/HND or Degree in Facilities Management/Building Services/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field (or significant equivalent experience).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher) in Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrable experience in facilities and H&S management, ideally in manufacturing and multi-site environments.
  • Knowledge of building compliance, fire safety, COSHH, SSOW and H&S risk management.
  • Experience in M&E services, PPM planning, and contractor management.
  • IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
  • Willingness to travel across our sites in Surrey.
Desirable qualifications and knowledge
  • IWFM Level 5 (or higher) or BSc in Facilities Management.
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety.
  • ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification.
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Electrical systems and applications.
  • Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • COSHH Regulations 2002
  • DSEAR 2002 and ATEX awareness (for flammable atmospheres)
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671 (18th Edition) awareness
  • PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998
  • Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR)
  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (awareness; Asbestos Management Plan)
  • Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (if gas systems present)
  • Legionella control (HSE L8 & HSG274)
  • F Gas requirements (records, certified personnel)
  • CDM Regulations 2015 (Client duties)
  • Waste, WEEE, hazardous waste handling, and environmental permitting
