Technical Proposals Engineer in Deeside, Wales

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical Proposals Engineer with proven experience in the aerospace tooling industry, or similar engineering background. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between customer requirements and internal capabilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in interpreting client needs, developing detailed technical specifications, and generating accurate and competitive quotations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage directly with clients to understand technical and commercial needs.
• Decipher and interpret customer requirements, drawings, and specifications (RFQs, RFPs).
• Identify key deliverables, compliance standards (e.g., AS9100), and timelines.
• Translate client requirements into clear internal technical specifications.
• Collaborate with design and supply chain teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with capabilities.
• Ensure specifications meet tooling standards, including tolerances, materials, and usage conditions.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and formal, comprehensive quotations, factoring in material, labour, and subcontracting.
• Develop and manage proposals, ensuring they are commercially viable and technically sound.
• Follow up with clients on proposals and adjust scope or pricing as required.
• Act as the central liaison between sales, engineering, supply chain, and procurement teams.

The Ideal Technical Proposals Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

• General knowledge in the fields of engineering is essential, but full training will be provided.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• The ability to multi-task whilst remaining detail orientated.
