The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organised individual who has an understanding of the washroom industry and a track record of prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers. This role is heavily focused on generating new business, developing new customer relationships, and managing customers from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation, and order conversion. The successful candidate will take ownership of building their own customer base, delivering excellent service, and developing long-term client relationships within a commercial and technically focused environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new business and secure new customers.
- Identify business opportunities by recognising prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analysing sales options.
- Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales.
- Build, manage, and develop your own customer accounts.
- Assess project feasibility and prepare accurate quotations based on customer requirements.
- Follow up quotations to maximise conversion rates and secure projects.
- Negotiate pricing, specifications, and project details with customers.
- Build strong long-term relationships with new clients and provide ongoing account management.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover and delivery.
- Support commercial growth through proactive sales engagement and relationship building.
- Conduct site surveys where required (desirable).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Will do attitude and be willing to go the extra mile for the customer.
- Prepare new business sales reports and submit to line manager for approval.
- Represent the organisation at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations.
- Present at sales meetings in the Dudley Office.
Must Have
- Ability to build and manage your own customer base.
- Experience within fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
- Estimating and quotation preparation experience.
- Commercially minded with strong negotiation and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to manage projects from enquiry through to order conversion.
- Surveying or site measuring experience.
- Previous senior estimator or leadership experience.
- Experience managing larger-scale or complex fabrication projects.
Salary & Package
Salary is dependent on experience, skill set, and industry background. A competitive package is available and negotiable for the right candidate.
