Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Safety Plan in alignment with company and legal standards.
- Lead site safety inductions and training sessions for all construction personnel and contractors.
- Review and provide input on contractors' Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce safe work practices.
- Perform regular site safety inspections and tours to ensure compliance with safety protocols and CDM 2015 requirements.
- Advise the Project Manager and site leadership on safety performance and risk mitigation measures.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate and timely weekly and monthly safety reports and HSE metrics.
- Ensure high-risk construction activities such as excavation, hot work, working at height, lifting operations, and demolition are risk assessed and controlled.
- Promote a safety-first culture among contractors, trades, and stakeholders on site.
Qualifications & Experience:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management.
- In-depth understanding of the UK construction industry and CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Proven experience in greenfield and brownfield projects in FMCG and/or chemical manufacturing environments.
- Solid knowledge of construction risk areas, including confined space, heavy lifting, and energy isolation.
- Experience in contractor management and multi-vendor construction sites.
- Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
