Our client is currently seeking a qualified Desktop Support Technician to join their team onsite in Richmond, VA and provide end-user support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems.
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security, and systems groups.
- Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed.
- Resolves network connection issues, tracks network connections back to network switches.
- Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support if unable to resolve.
- Represents the company in a professional and businesslike manner and communicates effectively with customers and associates.
- Interacts with customers, responding to routine technical questions or requests for information.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 6+ years of experience supporting PC Hardware and software.
- Comfortability providing hands and feet support for Server and Network is a plus.
- Experience supporting mobile data plans, mobile networks, and devices is a plus.
- Minimum 3+ years of Deskside Support experience.
- ServiceNow or similar ticketing system experience.
- Hardware and software support experience.
- Customer Facing experience.
- Able to train quickly on procedures and should have good IT knowledge base.
- Basic network troubleshooting skills.
- Able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment with strong personalities, and detail oriented.
- CompTIA A+ certification preferred but not required.
Wage Range
The rate for this position is between $18.75 - $27.50 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
