Excell Supply are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly respected independent specialist school that provides therapeutic education and support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Responsibilities

  • Support students with SEMH and ASD, helping them to build confidence, social skills and independence.
  • Assist in the delivery of creative, personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support.
  • Encourage student participation and celebrate progress, no matter how small.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with young people with SEND, particularly SEMH and ASD.
  • A calm, resilient and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
