Excell Supply are currently recruiting for SEN teaching assistants to work with children with various additional needs in schools, for day to day, short-term and long-term positions within school hours. These roles are on a supply basis so are very flexible to work around your busy life.

To be considered for these roles, you will need to be someone who has a caring and nurturing personality, who has the ability to build rapport with children, but also the ability to effectively manage challenging behaviour. A teaching assistant qualification would be ideal, but experience of working with children or young adults with additional needs is essential to these roles.

As a TA your role and responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to a child on a 1:1 basis
  • Promoting good behaviour / managing challenging behaviour
  • Aiding pupils in their learning as effectively as possible
  • Helping children with additional educational needs
  • Providing feedback on learning and development to the teacher
  • Creating and maintaining an orderly and supportive learning environment
  • Administrative tasks

We are looking for the following qualities in applicants:

  • Strong SEND experience
  • Passion for education
  • Friendly, positive and pro-active attitude
  • Team player
  • Experience working with Early Years
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Hold a level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification (Essential)
