Excell Supply is seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Shrewsbury. We are looking for the ideal candidate to start in September. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4, following the national curriculum.
- Prepare pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature, using varied assessment strategies.
- Foster a love of reading and literacy through creative teaching approaches.
- Track and monitor student progress, using data to identify and support underachieving learners.
- Participate in department planning meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.
- Support students with diverse needs, differentiating lesson content where necessary.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback on student work and maintain accurate records.
- Support the school’s behaviour policy, promoting high expectations and respectful conduct.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Recent experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- Passion for English literature and language.
- A commitment to pupil progress and inclusive education.
